Dentistry for the quality of your life -- All your life

Got Cavities?

Do You...

Take 2 or more medications?

Snack 1 -3 times a day?

Drink soda, fruit juices or sports drinks daily?

Have a "high carb / sugar" diet?

Have dental appliances / crowns?

Smoke or use tobacco?

Have a dry mouth?

Always have cavities in spite of brushing and flossing?

Suddenly have decay now and never did before?

For years the dental profession believed that decay was the result of too much sugar, improper home care or genetically inferior tooth enamel. Yes, these factors can be part of the problem, but we now know that the real issue is this - for whatever reason, certain bacteria have aggressively populated your mouth (infection) creating their own special extremely acidic environment which dissolves tooth enamel! Even worse, this infection can be spread from one person to another!

What about my saliva - doesn't it help me?

When things are working properly, the saliva neutralizes the mouth after we eat. Saliva helps rebuild tooth enamel on a constant basis - this is call re-mineralizing. A normal population of bacteria exist in our saliva unless there are conditions or personal habits that create an imbalance allowing certain aggressive bacteria to multiply rapidly.

Wont' brushing and flossing take care of this?

No - and neither will antibiotics or fluoride. The problem is that the PH of the mouth has been changed by "entrenched" and rapidly reproducing bacteria.  This "artificial" environment is extremely acidic so the teeth are constantly under attack. Until recently, our only "defense" was to keep repairing the damage and watch the teeth eventually lose the battle. A totally different approach is needed against this massive and very destructive infection!

What can I do?

We now have the knowledge/technology to determine your susceptibility and the products to help you re-establish the normal PH of a healthy mouth.

How do I get started?

A simple and inexpensive saliva test can help determine if you are at risk. This is quick, painless and the results are immediate - if you are high risk, we can help!

How expensive is this treatment?

This program of rinses and home care products costs about as much as having a filling done on your tooth. Considering how many thousands of dollars you might spend if decay keeps happening - which would you prefer? This is truly preventive dentistry at it's best - we invite you to come in and talk with us about this new and very different approach to managing your dental health.
